Spanish

Seventh graders normally begin with the “Spanish A” class, meeting on Tuesdays and Thursdays  at 7:30 am. Our first class will be Tuesday, September 1st 2026. Eighth graders will resume Spanish in the "Spanish B" class. We will be meeting on Wednesdays and Fridays  at 7:30 am. Our first class will be Wednesday, September 2nd 2026.  Class will take place in Mr. Dedini’s Science Room.

On-time arrival and consistent attendance are necessary. Homework will be assigned at the end of each class session and will be due at the beginning of the following class session. Grades will be earned, though they are not calculated into GPA.

Successful completion of the Spanish program at Jacoby Creek School may allow students to begin with Spanish 2 upon entering high school (“skipping” Spanish 1.)  This provides a boost toward meeting the three years’ foreign language recommendation for University of California entrance and allows students time later in high school to take an additional elective of interest.  Studying Spanish as a middle-schooler can help make foreign  language acquisition easier later on.
