Greetings JCS Families,

We are looking forward to welcoming students back to this week. Please read the following for important athletics reminders.

** If your student is interested in participating in a fall sport, and you have not done so already, please email Davita ASAP at [email protected] to indicate interest so we can plan accordingly. Athletics paperwork including preparticipation physicals are due prior to the sport deadline:

• 7th & 8th Grade Girls Volleyball— before 2:15PM, Monday, 8/26
• TK-8^th Coed Cross Country— before 2:15PM, Tuesday, 9/3
• 5^th-8^th Coed Golf— TBD

** Student athletes who do not turn in all required paperwork by the deadline will not be permitted to tryout.

**GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL (7^th & 8^th Grade)

• TRYOUTS WILL BE HELD AUGUST 26 - AUGUST
• Athletes must participate in ALL tryout To participate in tryouts, athletes must turn in all required paperwork prior to 2:15PM on 8/26.
• 8th grade: 3:00 PM - 4:45 PM [Coach Kali Cummings]
• 7th grade: 4:45 PM - 6:15 PM [Coach Kaylin Campbell]
• ATHLETES WILL BE NOTIFIED OF TEAM SELECTION VIA EMAIL ON WEDNESDAY, 8/28 BY 9:00PM.

**CROSS COUNTRY (COED TK – 8^th Grades)

• PRACTICES BEGIN ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3
• To participate in the season athletes must join the team on 9/3. All required forms must be turned in prior to 2:15PM on 9/3.
• Practices will be Tuesdays and
• TK-2 grade (mostly on campus; off campus runs dependent on parent volunteers): Tuesday andThursday, 2:15 PM - 3:00 PM [Coach Sarah Landis] — TK-2 athletes should be able to be safe, responsible, and stay on task during practices and races. Athletes who are unable to do so will need an adult with them at practice. Parent volunteers are welcome and strongly encouraged. 
• 3rd-8th grade (off campus 2-4 miles): Tuesday and Thursday, 3:00 PM - 4:15PM [Head CoachJosh Durham, Assistant Coaches Mariya Chisholm and Tony Sanchez]

**GOLF (COED 5^th – 8^thgrades) TBD

• To participate in golf, athletes must be able to play at least four holes under double par. Each school is limited to entering a maximum of six eligible players at each tournament.
• Golf is scheduled to start in the second week of September. Currently, JCS has not secured practice time at Baywood yet. If we are unable to secure practice time, we will not be able to have a team this season.
• If your student is eligible and interested in participating in golf this season, please email by August 30^th.

*Physicals are valid for one year from the date signed by the provider.
